Concrete curing
Concrete curing is the process of keeping concrete moist and protected as it gains strength.
Why it matters
Good curing reduces shrinkage cracking and improves strength and durability.
Where people get this wrong
Concrete does not dry to get strong. It cures through a chemical reaction. Hot, windy days can dry the surface too fast and cause cracks.
Real-world example
A slab looks fine on day one. A week later it has spider cracks everywhere. Poor curing and fast drying often play a role.
Where this hits your build
This matters during site work and foundation. Mistakes here get buried and are expensive to fix later. Pay attention before concrete is poured.
