Integrated LED recessed light

An integrated LED recessed light is a fixture with the LED light source built directly into the housing, with no separate bulb to replace.

Why it matters

Integrated LEDs are thinner, more efficient, and last 50,000+ hours. When they eventually fail, you replace the entire module.

Where people get this wrong

Integrated LED is different from a can light with an LED bulb. Integrated units are designed as one piece and are typically slimmer.

Real-world example

You install 4-inch integrated LED wafer lights. They are only half an inch thick and mount directly to the ceiling box, no bulky can needed.

Where this hits your build

This term shows up during construction and affects decisions that are hard to reverse once the work moves forward. Understanding it now saves time, money, and frustration later.

Most people do not just struggle with terms. They struggle with the decisions tied to them.
