Mini-split

A mini-split is a ductless heating and cooling system with an outdoor compressor and one or more indoor air handlers.

HVAC, Comfort, and Air Quality

Why it matters

Mini-splits can heat and cool individual zones without ductwork. They are efficient and work well for additions, conversions, and homes without ducts.

Where people get this wrong

Mini-splits need proper sizing for each space. One unit cannot condition an entire house unless it is designed for that. Installation quality matters.

Real-world example

A garage is converted to an office. A mini-split is installed because running ductwork would be expensive and invasive. The room stays comfortable year-round.

Where this hits your build

This affects daily comfort in every room. Problems often show up after move-in when certain rooms run hot, cold, or noisy.

Most people do not just struggle with terms. They struggle with the decisions tied to them.
