Plumbing rough-in
Plumbing rough-in is the stage where supply lines, drain lines, and vent lines are installed before insulation and drywall.
Why it matters
This is the last cheap moment to fix pipe locations, add shutoffs, and plan access. After drywall, changes cost real money.
Where people get this wrong
Rough-in is not the finish stage. Fixtures come later. A pipe in the right wall is not enough. Depth and access matter too.
Real-world example
You realize the shower valve is placed where the trim will hit a stud and sit crooked. During rough-in it is a quick fix. After tile, it is a heartbreak.
Where this hits your build
This comes up during rough-in and final fixture installation. Accessibility for future repairs matters as much as the initial install.
