Slope (drain)
Slope is the gentle downhill pitch a drain line needs so water and waste flow properly.
Why it matters
Wrong slope causes clogs, slow drains, and gunk buildup.
Where people get this wrong
Too little slope is a problem. Too much slope can also be a problem because water can outrun solids.
Real-world example
A shower drains fine at first, then starts holding water after a few months. That can happen when slope is wrong and buildup starts collecting where it should not.
Where this hits your build
This comes up during rough-in and final fixture installation. Accessibility for future repairs matters as much as the initial install.
