Condensate pump
A condensate pump moves condensate water to a drain when gravity drainage is not possible.
Why it matters
Pumps fail eventually. If a pump fails without a safety switch, it can cause water damage.
Where people get this wrong
Gravity drains are more reliable than pumps. A pump should be paired with an overflow safety shutoff.
Real-world example
The pump works for years, then dies quietly on a humid week. Without a safety shutoff, the overflow can soak a floor before anyone notices.
Where this hits your build
This affects daily comfort in every room. Problems often show up after move-in when certain rooms run hot, cold, or noisy.
Most people do not just struggle with terms. They struggle with the decisions tied to them.
