Pressure tank
A pressure tank stores pressurized water so the well pump does not need to start every time you open a faucet.
Why it matters
It protects the pump and provides steadier water pressure.
Where people get this wrong
A pressure tank does not make water. It stores and buffers it. A failing tank can cause pump cycling and pressure swings.
Real-world example
You open a faucet and the pressure pulses on and off. That can be a sign the pressure tank is not doing its job and the pump is short cycling.
Where this hits your build
This comes up during rough-in and final fixture installation. Accessibility for future repairs matters as much as the initial install.
