Screw pop
A screw pop is when a drywall screw pushes up and creates a small bump or crack in paint.
Why it matters
It is a common cosmetic issue. It can signal movement in framing or weak fastening.
Where people get this wrong
A screw pop is not always a structural problem. Fixing one pop does not prevent future pops if movement continues.
Real-world example
A year after move-in you notice little circles in the ceiling. The house is settling and the drywall fasteners are showing it.
Where this hits your build
This comes up during the finish phase. Lighting, angles, and personal expectations collide here. What looks fine at noon can look rough at dusk.
