Balancing (HVAC)
Balancing is adjusting dampers and registers to distribute airflow evenly throughout a home.
Why it matters
Without balancing, some rooms get too much air and others get too little. Comfort problems often trace back to poor airflow balance.
Where people get this wrong
Balancing is not the same as closing vents. Proper balancing involves measuring airflow and adjusting dampers in the duct system.
Real-world example
One bedroom is always cold. A technician measures airflow and finds a damper almost closed in the main trunk. Opening it fixes the temperature difference.
Where this hits your build
This affects daily comfort in every room. Problems often show up after move-in when certain rooms run hot, cold, or noisy.
Most people do not just struggle with terms. They struggle with the decisions tied to them.
