Radon rough-in
A radon rough-in is piping placed under a slab so radon gas can be vented out if testing shows high radon later.
Why it matters
Radon is invisible. Rough-in is cheap before the slab and expensive after.
Where people get this wrong
Rough-in is not the same as a full active radon system. Radon risk varies by region. Testing is the truth.
Real-world example
The home tests high for radon after move-in. If the rough-in pipe is already there, adding a fan can be simple. If not, you start drilling through slabs and walls.
Where this hits your build
This matters during site work and foundation. Mistakes here get buried and are expensive to fix later. Pay attention before concrete is poured.
