Supply duct

A supply duct delivers conditioned air from the HVAC system to individual rooms through registers in the ceiling, floor, or walls.

HVAC, Comfort, and Air Quality

Why it matters

Properly sized and sealed supply ducts ensure each room gets the right amount of airflow for comfortable temperature and humidity levels.

Where people get this wrong

Supply ducts push air out. Return ducts pull air back. If a room has no return path, it builds pressure and the supply duct cannot deliver air properly.

Real-world example

A 6-inch round supply duct runs from the trunk line in the basement to a floor register in the living room, delivering warm air from the furnace.

Where this hits your build

This affects daily comfort in every room. Problems often show up after move-in when certain rooms run hot, cold, or noisy.

Most people do not just struggle with terms. They struggle with the decisions tied to them.
