Circuit breaker
A circuit breaker is a safety switch in the electrical panel that trips when a circuit pulls too much power or has a fault.
Why it matters
Breakers protect wiring from overheating and reduce fire risk.
Where people get this wrong
A breaker that trips often is a symptom. It is not a fix. Replacing a breaker without fixing the cause can be dangerous.
Real-world example
The breaker trips every time you run the microwave and toaster together. The house is telling you that circuit is overloaded.
Where this hits your build
This matters during rough-in and before drywall. Once walls close, adding or moving wiring becomes expensive. Plan ahead.
